Don't expect ANY nightlife in Lombok! This is a very Muslim island, and its even hard to buy any alcoholic drinks in a shop. On the other hand, you'll find everything you want in Bali -- good restaurants, pubs with music, discos, cultural performances, etc.
Bali is also much cheaper than Lombok because of the competition.
