I agree Yogja is fantastic, we flew there in May with Air Asia from memory we paid $34 each way for our tickets. Borobudur is amazing, up there with Angkor Wat in my opinion. We stayed at the Royal Ambrukkomo hotel, 5 stars and absolutely beautiful, we got it for $60 a night on Agoda (think it was a last minute special). The hotel was stunning, we were greeted with a knock on the door within 5 minutes of arriving and there was a lady there with a bunch of orchids and a young man with a basket of fruit, then at 7 o'clock they came to do a turn down service and brought a plate of cakes for us. They also had afternoon tea upstairs with all you can eat cakes, drinks etc. The pool was fabulous and they had a freezer next to the pool filled with Haagen Daaz ice creams you could help yourself to, all of this was included in the room price. The breakfast was amazing, never seen so many choices at breakfast before! Anywhere else in the world and this hotel would have cost over $300 per night. I would go back to Yogja just for the hotel!!!! Also the hotel is situated right next to a huge new shopping mall. It is a 10 minute drive to Marlioboro Street but the hotel has a free shuttle. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
