are perfect for rats to breed and thrive.
The placement of edible offerings all around the place and discarding of edible materials in accessible areas provide excellent conditions for them.
Whether there are actually more around now than before is difficult to say.
Perhaps they are just more visible as development drives them from their usual concealed habitats.
I have wondered in the past if the symbol for bali should be a squashed rat, with tail extended as these are so common on the roads and gangs.
Perhaps such items could be made in the same way as the wall mounted ghekos?
Of course rats are not fussy as to where they hang out and the flashest places have them as well as the lesser places.
We have actually seen a huge one at the luggage collection area at the airport....quite a welcome for any new visitor.
