Just about to return to Bali for visit No.3. Couple of things I can guarantee you of. 1) You will fall in love with Bali. 2) You will be looking to book your return trip not long after returning home from you current trip.
Activities to consider, White Water Rafting, we paid around RP210,000 per person and wife, myself (50yo) and 14 yo son had a great time. So much so we booked it again on our second trip. Another, Bali Bike, (there's a few of them) all pretty much the same. Ours included transport from Seminyak up to Kintamani for a breakfast, and also a stop off at the Lewak coffee plantation ( I guess you should do this at least once, but that's enough. It seems like every time you book something these days it includes a stop at the local Lewak coffee "plantation"' with not a bean growing in site) Good bikes, 99% downhill through villages, rice paddies, an informative stop of at a locals home compound, then lunch and a swim and transport back to motel. Another, The Rock Bar at the Ayana Resort. Not my favorite as the sunset at the beach at Seminyak is exactly the same, and the Bintangs are cheaper, but my wife loved it. So many great places to eat, you'll hear about all the favorite ones on here, but don't discount jumping into one of the many Warungs for a quick lunch. You'll obviously be aware of the dreaded "Bali Belly" but this is pretty much a thing of the past (with some common sense) most people confuse an upset stomach, due to it making adjustments to the spice/palm oil/over indulgence etc, to Bali Belly. Just don't drink the water, but stay hydrated from a bottle. Hope this all helps. I can't wait to get back. Enjoy!
