Dennisc is there currently, and is a most discerning guest.
It will be interesting to see how his stay is going, especially with regard to the noise from the AP Inn.
I have never heard any noise at all from nearby properties, as they really are some distance away.
Interesting comment about having to go up the stairs.
Was there a problem with the lifts?
Maybe there is a good case to increase the number of female staff in the restaurant area, to try to neutralise the "boys focussing on girls" issue.
I hope your friend recovered from the fall, and that you have better luck when you next visit Bali.
