Drove down from Amed earlier today.
The time spent there was wonderful.
I rode into the foothills this morning as far as was comfortable on the bike.
Steep, bumpy but enlightening and well worth doing.
The drive back I went north and out west to Amlapurs and then south.
You need to be patient for this.
Many many sand loaded trucks doing max 25ks or even less and nowhere to pass.
There was one such truck who had a navigational problem and was tipped over with two wheels in a ditch.
One has to take some chances and use second senses in order to make reasonable progress.
Back in Kuta and a couple of hours at the beach at the end of Poppies one.
Fantastic outlook to many surfers with beginners at the Pop 1 end to more experienced around the Kuta Beach rotunda.
Clean and firm sand and a friendly surf environment.
Its great to be back!
Dinner at Warung Taj on Gg Matawan, Chilli chicken with Indian extras and watching local life passing by.
I loved spending the 30k for lollies for the few kids hanging around, but didn't enjoy the feeling of guilt that comes with an old grandfather buying sweets for kids.
It's a sick world.
Anyway, the morning walk awaits on an early morning total safe (for the last 20 years) Poppies One.
