Early Garuda flight from Melbourne on Wednesday and landed dead on time. Plane only about three quarters full, so had four seats between us. No complaints really, but their inflight entertainment needs updating since Shawshank Redemption! also note don't eat the curried chicken for breakfast😜😜
Queue for VOA was huge, probably took about half an hour to get through, then straight up to the new gates and no waiting there, passports in and gates open, yippee.. Bags were already out, paid new Tourist Tax on way past , which we were the only ones paying, so everyone else has already done on line or just don't pay. Have never seen traffic at the airport like it, cars everywhere and huge traffic jams.
Arrived at hotel in Legian and room ready, phew, so much better than waiting around but hotel not full either so that would help. Quick lunch, back for a rest after 3am get up, down for sunset drinks then off to Sheppys for dinner.
Day 2... mmmm I have really bad head cold today, darn don't need this over here. Taxi down to Bingtang supermarket for tissues and some descent soap to wash with.
Back for lunch in Garlic Lane, won't mention name of Restaurant, but won't be back.....no vanilla ice cream for milk shakes, no chicken , pork or fish......what's going on so we had our drinks and left. Lunch across the road and went to Melasti Street to my favourite money changer and got 10,400, they always give more than board outside. Thinking I don't feel great I came back and yes after four years of being Covid free and five injections you got it, I have it. Just really feels like a huge head cold so will be resting up for a day or so.
Workmen in Posers sifting through the timber to see if they can use again, you got love it talk about recycling. Imagine won't be open for some time. Weather warm, and everybody and everything all still the same day in day out.
