Never have I experienced this before but in 18 days I had to bail on three occasions from Taxi's with dodgy meters.
The first , I was picked up on Sunset near Pak Malen after feed of Babi Guling , happily chatting to the taxi driver practicing my Basa Balinese , we only just reached Bingtang Super Market, when I looked down at the meter, it had clocked up to 83000 rp. I remonstrated with the Taxi driver who tried to tell me it was normal, asked him to stop and got out. He new he was busted as he just carried on his way.
The other two occurrences were late evening, as soon as we took off in the cab the flag fall started increasing quickly, again asked the driver to stop and we just got out.
Yes I know I should only use Bluebird but I do try and support the local Balinese Taxis. May have to rethink that ......
