Ron, it doesn't always have to be at a high price or a 'fancy' villa, but they did mention they were considering a villa
The original post stated "I don't want to rough it too much, so a decent standard would be required, but not at the level we presently pay at hotels like Lokha, Psaradis and Kumala Pantai."
Also as said depending on where they rent the cost of a villa may be quite comparable or even lower per night than perhaps at places like Kumala Pantai
I have rented a 3 bedroom villa (one bedroom closed off to become 2) with pool, wifi etc for about $73/night for a month.
I have also rented a 2 bedroom with pool for about $97 per night.
Both these were in the Bidadari/Mertanadi area.
There is also one currently on Airbnb off Jln Double 6 for $70 /night - 2 bedroom with a pool
Of course if you look at villas in the range of $6-8000 a month they may as well stay at their favourite hotel.
However they do have the option of a villa for a month for much less than that, a homestay or a budget hotel like Masa, Sari Bunga etc if they so choose.
And yes I do understand the question thanks, regardless of where the egg is served.
