Didn't have the night cage safari when I went some years back but would highly recommend staying the night or two. A few hints though, make sure the Safari staff have your transfer details. We waited 2 hours to be picked up from our villa, calling them several times, not hard to find, driver kept getting lost looking for us and then had 1 standard size car for 7 passengers with luggage, had to wait on second vehicle which was a mini van so fine in the end. The safari don't organise transfers from the safari to your ongoing accommodation even though my confirmation email which I was able to show said otherwise. Also I had booked and paid for 7 adults and on arrival we were told I had only paid and booked for 5. Again I produced my paperwork which they accepted, hey they had to b&w. More delays waiting for accommodation to fit all 7, worked out great in the end. After our two nights with most of us with bouts of Bali-belly I went to organise transfer time for our trip to ongoing accommodation, I was told impossible, we don't have adequate vehicles for transfers, again I showed my paperwork. Apparently they had a staff member that got many many things wrong at the time of my booking. Not my problem, told them they had to supply transfer. We all ended up in a rickety old van with no air-conditioning. I tried ringing around my contacts to find alternative transport after seeing the van but all I could get was early evening and place was booked out so we had to be out of rooms by 10 so we all had to suffer through a rough trip to Seminyak. Even though we had these unfortunate issues with Mara I have been back once again and will probably be going back next June. I was more thorough with maps and received verbal as well as writing confirmation the second time so no confusion.
