So after five nights in Nusa Lembongan I crossed back to Sanur. Picked up my pre arranged driver to take me to Padang Bai. Of course I could have went directly from Lembongan to Padang but I wanted to travel via Bangli so that I could once more visit Pura Kehen, apparently One of Bali's oldest temples. Beautiful place and well worth the detour.
Continued on to Candi Dasa where I had planned to spend two nights, it ended up being five, maybe just as well I don't adhere to my own schedule. Stayed at two different places in Candi, The Natia and Segara Wangi cottages. Both good value and excellent accommodation.
Took an ojek up to the Bali Aga village, had only just started looking around when an odd thing happened, a dog complete with collar and lead came up to me, friendly little dog. I did look around for his owner but couldn't see anyone so I just took him with me on my stroll through the village. Interesting place and well worth the effort and yes I did give the dog back before I left.
During my time here I also went to Tirtagangga and Ujung water palaces and gardens, the time and effort put into building these places so long ago still amazes me, so many intricate carvings plus the planning of the layout.
Restaurants I used in Candi, Le Zat, The Dining Room, Queens, Crazy Kangeroo and Joglo, all good and reasonable prices. Joglo was the stand out, the pork spare ribs were absolutely fantastic.
Lunch was mainly eten in mum and dad type warungs, nothing wrong with a good nasi or mie goreng made by and for locals.
Tomorrow heading up to Amed for a few days, after that I think Lovina.
