I was in Bali xmas last, and used the beach oppisite Stones hotel.
I thought water and the beach were quite clean, opions may differ though.
Rain well it is the wet season it doesn't spoil your holiday, but carry either unbrella or poncho.
Being from similar climate I find it very comfortable.
Heading over again for xmas and new year.
