Have been there the last few years over this time. Firstly traffic is horrendous as there is a lot of people from Java come over with their cars. One year it took us 1 hr from Double Six (near the Haven turn off) back up through Werkudara to the top of Legian St and Double Six. Shocking traffic. Legian/Kuta beach is not pleasant. The beach and water is filthy at this time of year (due to winds?). Last year stayed at Sanur and was just perfect. So much quieter and the beach is more than pleasant. Going back again this year.
