Ignore the comments about Sanur being a retirement home although years ago there was some truth in it. Those that stay in Sanur these days know that it is popular with families, young backpackers, couples of all ages etc and with good reason. I suggest that you get a taxi to Sindu Beach Rd. (Jalan Pantai Sindu). When you hit the beach turn left a few metres and sit down actually on the beach and have a cool drink at Tootsies Restaurant and take in the scene. Behind Tootsies cafe are some Markets and just in there you will find Tootsies fixed price shop which is always worth a look. Now, when facing the beach turn right and head down the beach path which goes for kilometres. When you have had enough head through one of the roads to the Main Street (Jalan Danau Tamblingan) and have a look about. There are so many good places to eat that I won't bother trying to recommend anywhere. You will come accross quite a few villas on your walk but what I know about villas would fit on the back of a postage stamp so I will leave that to others, maybe Bloodyron. Enjoy your day.
