One for calls and one for Data.
I have old phone and install a bali sim and load it with about $20aud and then use this as a hotspot. Lasts me 2 weeks. Use pm on facebook to contact home.
There is two basic providors. XL & SIMPATTI. From memory xl is compatable with telstra and simpatti with optus. I may be wrong.
Do not expect fast speeds and use free wifi where available. Free wifi is generally overloaded and very slow.
