The highlights of the next week were - lots of swimming with our local friends at the pool, massages at Ayu Spa, lots of good food and the 'mooning' incident.
Two of us had a trip into Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. We do this day each holiday. Fabric shopping at Alta Moda, dress shopping at Tina's in Legian and onto Biku for High Tea with a glass of bubbly added to the set meal. All great.
That night we had the big "family" dinner at the hotel. Many of our local friends come and after dinner we share out the clothes and so on we have brought with us - called "lets go shopping". Always a great get together.
Porch breaky was popular and we had a great dinner at Shisha Cafe - a warning for some though, no alcohol is served. The Middle Eastern Lamps are very beautiful and we enjoyed the shisha smoking - double apple, kiwi, mint was the recommendation from our waitress and was a good flavour. One of the waiters taught us the bubble trick of putting smoke into a bubble of detergent, unfortunately the camera went flat so we missed a record of that hilarity.
Next day's food was Lilla Warung for breaky - one of my faves, Mama Sate for lunch (near the food market) which was great and later to the newish hotel with the lawn roof on Tamblingan - The Maya for cocktails. We had a tour and it is very luxurious although some areas weren't finished and still lacked a bit of warmth. The roof top has a great view of Sanur. The cocktail bar at the beach side was a great relaxing spot for drinks. (Friends went for dinner on a different night and were the only diners. Said it was delicious but expensive.) This particular night there was an interesting sunset with a moon up and quite a few patrons were snapping pictures of the beautiful scene. I didn't want to miss the photo opp so walked a little forward and as I was taking pics the full skirted dress I was wearing decided to rise up - right up! Of course this would be a g string and not a big knickers day! I politely hoped to the crowd that they hadn't taken that photo and of course any new story about the moon reminds my friends to relive my embarrassment.
Dinner at Dead Fish - a great, little warung a few streets back from Tamblingan, sort of behind the Swiss hotel.Cheap prices, good food and a quirky setting, we had a number of visits here.
Next morning off to Ubud.....
