Flew home this morning. Last night at Denpasar airport was not surprised to see that the ghastly temporary Garuda Business Class Lounge remains. Not long after we sat down, I was sketching the flowers and there was a kerfuffle behind me. There was a rat under a chair in the lounge.. A passenger called a Garuda girl and she squealed and ran away. She came back with two boys and the two girls who man the reception desk. They held hands for moral support (THAT'LL be useful said the Australian women sitting nearby.)
The boys brought brooms and cornered it amidst much squealing from Garuda and much hilarity from passengers, but it made a break. They cornered it again and killed it and carried it out on a shovel.
Still very poor in the lounge. Tea was cold. Cakes were dry. But you CAN ask for a glass of wine or a Bintang and get it.
I am a great fan of Garuda Business Class, but last night not so great. NOT lie flat beds. They didn't turn off the cabin lights till well into the flight. Breakfast (European option) was Birchermuesli, but really more like cold porridge. Then we had a waffle. I am no expert on waffles (never had one before) but there seemed to be not enough moist stuff served with it. And the coffee was cold. Most unlike my other Business class flights on Garuda where everything was perfect But I am home safe and will certainly go Garuda again.
Still blogging my sketches but running way behind. Better technology and wifi now though!
