JBR Part 3 - Seminyak - Post Elopement

We headed down to Seminyak and checked into the Marriott Courtyard for the next 3 nights. This is a big new hotel on Jln Dhyana Pura. Good pool, with pool bar, beanbags, happy hour, acoustic man, etc. Rooms are nice and a good size with a balcony, but bathroom a little too 'exposed' for my liking. This hotel is quite loud and busy (and leaning towards the bogan side). The best part was the breakfast - one of the best buffet setups I've seen (ice cream?!), although crowded and a bit feral. We had to go in a queue one day and wait 10 mins just to gain entry. Personally, I wouldn't stay here again but it is probably a good option for families.

We just chilled by the pool in the afternoon and continued unveiling the elopement news to family and friends. Then we went to Moonlite, which is the old SOS Bar on the fifth floor of the Anantara Hotel. You cannot find a better place to watch the sunset. Dinner and cocktails were lovely, but on the expensive side.

The next day we hired a scooter and went to Kuta in the morning so I could do some shopping. I bought a few homewares from the top floor of Centro, a couple of work dresses from Sogo and Centro, a snakeskin clutch, and stocked up on my fave $8.00 sandals.

A bit of pool time before our complimentary massage at the hotel. We then headed to the beach for a sunset drink at Taris, which is one of the beanbag bars. Dinner was at Motel Mexicola due to the fact my husband insists they have 'the best ribs ever'. I always find this place a bit noisy, which is probably ok if you are in a group, buts as a couple it is always a quick dinner. We stopped at Lello Lello around the corner for gelato on the way home.

The next morning included waffles and ice cream for breakfast (yum!) before a bit of pool time. This is a place where you must get in early at the pool to get the sun and a prime position. I then did some more shopping around Jln Laksmana. I bought dresses from Body & Soul and Bamboo Blonde and a photo frame from Carga. I booked into Amo Spa on Jln Petitenget to get a hair cut as I had been growing my hair for 6 months for the wedding. It cost 200++ Rp and they did an ok job. I dropped into Biku for lunch. Although known for the yummy high tea, their normal menu and food is great too.

Our photographer delivered the CD of our wedding photos and the photobook to the hotel. Super excited - love love love!! They did an amazing job with the photography and it was great to have them all delivered, including the very professional book, within 3 days

We saved our favourite restaurant, La Sal, for our final dinner. We love this little Spanish place that serves delicious tapas on Jln Drupadi. It is surprising that it is always empty when we go! Anyway, we had another fabulous dinner and it was the perfect way to end our time in Bali.

Now to Singapore for the second part of our honeymoon...
