Arrived AA from Darwin. On time good trip. Paid our $50au visa on arrival and straight through immigration. No need to do an arrival card now however make sure you have your boarding pass. I didn't get asked for my boarding pass but hubby did and I had to pass it to him as I was already through. We only take carry on so no baggage to wait for. Out of the airport, found our driver and in his car within 20mins of landing. Gotta be happy with that!
We used to always just get a taxi at the airport however now at the time we arrive no-one regulates the taxi booth prices and the drivers all negotiate with you. Last two trips this has happened to us and they are charging minimum 100,000rp to get to Kuta square area. This is what my driver charges us so now on I will arrange him each time.
Rate on the stret is around 10400. Weather is hot and has rained at night a couple of times.
We are staying at Maharani (on the beach corner of Poppies 1) got a good rate on a Living Social deal. Awesome view overlooking Kuta beach. Nice hotel. Brekky not so nice but it is edible.
Have been to our usual places; Celsius, TJ's, Boardwalk, Moo Moos, (best steak in Bali), Blue Skyz and New Skyz for drag show, Bali bakery, and tried newish Mozzerella in Seminyak (to see our friend Eka and try the new place. We were not dissapointed. Usual great service and food you expect at any Mozzerella in Bali). Also tried Sardine at Beachwalk. What a great place! Happy staff, great food.
Tried to book Bali Beach Shack for dinner and Idol show but only table left available was for 5 people (7 with us), so we sent our friends who are BBS virgins and converted now. They loved it! We are all going tonight.
Lesson - if you want to go somewhere in particular make sure you book ahead!
The good places are booking out fast!
Everywhere we normally go has been fairly busy. Staff are saying it was a little quiet last week but good now.
Having massages and hair creme bath every alternate days. Hard life but someone has to do it to maintain the economy!
Walked down to Lippo mall. Lots of shops there but I found most prices to be near Aussie prices and didnt purchase anything. They have food court ouside every night. Our driver said it was good but we don't chance eating off the street and are not game to try.
That is all for now.
We are off to Candi Dasa, Lombok and Gili T next week for our first time so appreciate any tips etc.
Happy to answer any questions.
Thanks for reading. Cheers.
