Flew jetstar from melb-dps. our flight got delayed 3 times , then cancelled out of melb, resceduled for the morning of the 4th. very poor communication by jet star as to what was going on. luckily we got put in a hotel as over 80kms from airport.. lost our 1st nights accom as it wasnt worth claiming with excess etc..
very hot in bali and quiet. seems the crowds are staying away.
stayed at ossotel in legian. very nice hotel, modern but massive construction going up next door, working well into the night. pool always very cold due to no sun on it
spent everyday at raymonds bar near jayakarta, best place to be.
rate around 10,200-10,300 the whole time. got scammed a few times at circle k/money changes but was well aware and asked them to correct my money
eats- seaside is always a fav, motel mexicola tacos and guac mmm, warung souvalaki on 66 delish and cheap, jerrys bar on the beach near jayakarta , ulitmos for pasta/pizza delish, sabena on jalan legian the best steak
tried to go to rock bar, 2 hr wait but have chairs set up for drinks on the cliff , nice but pricey
jimmy on the beach near jayakarta makes great jewellery , rings, neckalces etc.. he can custom make or he has alot of great items/sizes wtih him. he made me a "von treskow" style coin ring and its amazing
for anyone who wants to do something different please go and visit villa kitty. it is a cat rescue villa owned by a lovely australia woman. she currently has around 150 neglected,abused or dumped cats/kittens in her care. she and her staff are amazing. we took them $500 of donations, blankets , training pads and toys for the cats. this was a great feeling helping out such a beautiful organisation. please consider visiting them in ubud. every little thing helps..
attempted to surf $20 1 hr lesson, drank half the ocean and gave up but very fun
back in august and will be staying at my favourite jayakarta.. just cant fault that hotel.. yes its older but i stay in a priavte apartment . the grounds and staff are just amazing
