I remember when the Japanese started visiting Bali, most of them came in organised groups for a 3 or 4 day stay. In the mornings they would all gather together and march off to breakfast, then they would all get on a bus and disappear for the day (I would think only spending where they were directed to). I never noticed any of them leave the hotel and mosey around the local shops/markets. Hope the Chinese are a bit more liberal.
