It is true. Since March 2015, airlines have to collect the Rp 200,000 Departure Tax for flights leaving Bali.

I am in the same situation as you. The AA Checkin in Australia will try to collect $A22 from you. I am going to resist and tell them I will pay the Rp 200,000 Departure Tax at Bali Airport.

Jetstar wants their passengers in our situation to pay the Rp 200,000 Departure Tax at Bali Airport.
