Hi everyone,
Back in Bali again. came up on Sunday with Garuda. Business class was wonderful - even better than the last time. They are calling you by name now. The business class cabin was quite empty and they were wafting about with wine bottles pouring drinks the whole time. Food was sensational. Totally unlike airline food. When we landed the cabin doors were opened super-fast, one only person ahead of us in the VOA queue. No, we didn't sprint.....past that. Ditto with the immigration queue. Half an hour after landing we were standing in the bottom of the car park waiting for our driver to bring the car.
So off to Ubud, and not long afterwards we were both on the outside of a mojito at Cinta Grill. Just a very leetle snack and off to bed at Cendana.
I am sketching every day and will be posting them on my quirkyartist blog on Wordpress. Blogging is a bit spasmodic as I am having too good a time. I will be here for four weeks though, so lots of sketches. Writing this post over breakfast while finishing my kopi Bali after my green banana pancakes and the rest. I LOVE Cendana. Such a beautiful garden and such a lovely place to have breakfast. The cats stop me missing Cossie Foo.
So last Saturday was Saraswati Day, and the day we came up was Banyu Pinaruh, devoted to health and exercise (not for us!). The following day was Soma Ribek which is to thank for the food and beverage in ones life. YES. After the flight we needed to do that. Lunch at Ibu Rai and dinner at Cafe Wayan. A lazy day.
The next day, Tuesday, the holy day of Sabuh Mas, for clothing and jewellery. We started at Cantika spa, at Penestanan Kelod, up in the jungle for pedicure (green toenails) and went from there to Goddess on the Go at Pengosekan, where I bought a calf length coat in cobalt blue and a darker blue tunic. Do you know this shop? They have a website. Lovely quality clothing, all sizes, beautiful colours. Mid season clothes for Australia. I bought a top on my last visit, and I had been to the website and planned what I was going to buy. They are making a tunic in a different colour for my friend in her size. Lunch also at Pengosekan, Pundi Pundi, recommended by our friend Nyoman the hotel driver. Very delicious.
That's it for now. Off to Sanur for the day. Beautiful weather here in Bali. much swimming, even in the night.
Cheers,
Wendy
