My brother used to work for a major Sydney newspaper.
I mentioned to him that several journalists were posting questions on the BTF re proposed articles about Bali.
My brother laughed and said that it was common in news rooms to go to the editor and propose a Bali horror story.
When the editor agreed, the journo would pack up his family for an enjoyable family holiday. While on holiday, the journo would take a few photographs and obtain a few quotes. As well, the journo would try to charge as much as possible of the family holiday to the newspaper.
Back in Sydney, the journo would pound out another Bali horror story!
