Last January went to Gili T with family. We decided to fly and get a private transfer from the airport at Praya to Teluk Nare and the hotels speedboat to Gili T. It was very easy but the transfer was $90 for 4 of us on top of the airfares which was only $100.
In August I got the Eka Jaya fast boat from Padang Bai. Conditions were very favourable on both legs. Cost was about $60 return with transfers from/to hotel.
If I was dong it again in January with family, I would fly due to likely prevalent conditions.
