hostels as such are few and far between in Bali. This is because guest houses (losmen) or homestays are so cheap. If you head to Poppies Lane 1 you will find plenty of cheap options which are great places to meet other(mainly) young backpackers. If you want to book one night in advance google Poppies 1.
What time are you arriving? If during the day just get a taxi from the airport, fixed price and get him to drop you at the beach end of Poppies Lane 1 and walk up. You will find lots of options. Look for "guest house" "losmen" or homestay. Alternatively book a night on line at....Masa Inn, or Secret Garden Inn and look around the next day. Or walk up the Lane and ask one of the m any backpackers who are around.
