to the Gilis everyday without problems. I don't dispute there have been accidents and some of the boats and their captains leave a lot to chance which is why I recommend Scoot. But many of the recounts of a frightening experience come from people who are not familiar with boats and give uninformed, hysterical opinions. Airflight in Indonesia has never been a 100% safe and many people would never fly domestically and instead travel by boat. Both have risks. My most nervewracking experience in a boat was a crossing from Senggigi to Gili Air but I accept that if I want to spend time on the Gilis that boat trip is unavoidable.
