Just a couple of points
1. Get an international drivers licence
2. Change your car hire excess on your travel insurance
3 photograph and video car to prevent 'communication breakdown' when you return it. Photograph all marks/dings etc
Driving in Bali is fine, just take your time. Driving yourself gives you the freedom to do whatever whenever and I highly recommend it.
Plan to take some side roads, wander into villages, get lost.... its all good.

ps Pay a bit more and get a toyota rather than a susuki....
