It also depends on where you see it. If it's in a big market and you can see that item at many stalls, you can usually get a much better price. I always tell my friends not to ever show too much excitement when you see something you like. The price will double then! I even start out by asking for a price on something that I am not at all interested in, just to avoid narrowing in on that one item.
