I am also going to Bali in April over the Easter period. As we wanted a specific hotel, I booked early. I also managed to get them to move quite a bit on the original quote - probably because they don't have a lot of bookings at the moment.
If you have your heart set on a particular hotel, I would book now. Some don't even require a deposit and you can cancel up to a few weeks before you travel.
