From previous trips I would not bother getting duty free in Denpasar.
I have found it much better to buy at the duty free in Australia after you land. They are always open if planes are arriving, have a great range, and from my experience as cheap as Bali.
If anyone has found this not to be true now I would like to know. This way there is no problem getting it brought to the plane and having to look after it on the journey home.
The only time I carry it on is on the way to Bali where I buy cheap Duty Free to drink in Bali.
