That said, the weather is perfect at the moment, no rain and afternoon breezes to keep things comfortable.
Rate is 10,600 - 10,500 today and seems to be on the down.
Have only eaten at local small places so far and the Sumatran BBQ pork take away last night was spot on.
Have spent some time in Denpasar showing friends around the non tourist parts of Bali .
They ended up purchasing a couple of Seiko Eco drive watches at excellent prices.
I took some pieces into Burhans jewelers to get alterations done and some other pieces made.
Pick up later this week.
I will be through the airport again tomorrow and again through arrivals later this week.
I was grocery shopping in my favourite place earlier (Galael)
I asked where kuching makan was and much to my surprise I was directed to where all sorts of kuching, anging and all sorts of makan was.
They didn't seem bothered by my pidgeon bahasa Indonesia, any more than I am bothered by "baby sister" rather than baby sitter or for that matter the old Gordon Blue.
I find that local people appreciate my efforts to speak some sort of their language, in much the same way as I appreciate their efforts in speaking mine.
However, of course there will always be those on here who want to denigrate people who try to tell the story as it is.
Luckily the vast majority understand the context and it is just slow stalkers with other agendas who want to try and make a case for the negative.
I will continue with my broken Bahasa Indonesia as I please and my Indonesian friends are clearly happy to accept my occasional reversals of words and general foxes paws.
Back onto local observations, traffic is "normal" now and as long as one knows short cuts and rides a motor or other bike, one can get around OK.
Bintangs are priced between 16k and 40k depending on where consumed, Radler is sweet and not required and Bali Hai is better than I remembered before.
As always San Mig is a welcomed change from time to time.
Off to Seminyak today to visit friends, so another good day ahead.
