Booked into Respati yesterday, in rooms 104/111. Both twin rooms, very neat, decent sized, shower over bath :( no kettle for my friend who likes to have her tea in her room in the mornings ....
Very quiet hotel , it seems mostly European guests. Right on the beach front so easy to walk out and along the beach path.....
Lunch at Bennos on the beach yesterday then later on got a cab down to Jln Danau Poso and checked out a few restaurant menus. It seems many places are like old Bali with a variation of things on offer but all very similar, unlike Seminyak which has many ethnic specialty restaurants now and many very western style menus .....
We came across The Fire Station and then Elsewhere and were impressed by both their menus..as we hadn't booked , and they both looked rather full we were lucky to grab a table at Elsewhere...... We shared a dip plate between us which was delish then my friend had the pork belly and I had a marinated chicken dish with risotto...both fantastic !! They do not serve wines,(but you can BYO) only beers and moctails...on speaking to the Aussie owner Brad he explained that the licensing is a bit of an issue to sell wines and that they have only been open 4 months !!! I had no idea this was the case in Bali but he explained that anything over 5% alcohol requires a special license that costs quite a bit to obtain.
I would highly recomend the restaurant , the staff were really lovely, service was good and food fabulous. It is in a noisy street with the Goanna bar next door and two bars across the road also.
We taxi'd home and then found the Carla spa open across the road so indulged in manicure and pedicures, topped of with a baileys night cap and into bed...this relaxing is so tiring !!!
