I left Bali in June this year and was expecting the same departure procedure as before (in the old airport). This however was very different. Where I had previously had ALL of my baggage xrayed prior to booking in this did not happen. I had the "wand" over my luggage for explosives and asked whether I had lighters etc in my luggage prior to booking in, but nothing more. I then proceeded to immigration and I went through the xray machine with my hand luggage. I have been told, whether true or not, that the checked in luggage gets xrayed after you book in, so not sure how they would take out bottles from your checked in luggage.
