I find Skype to have better reception, but as wadulla said, stay away from built up areas. I had been using Skype nearly everyday for about 4 weeks to London because problems with my daughters UK passport, fortunately for me no charges for calls, sometimes on the line for 45 minutes. Also been using Skype video as well as voice calls to my daughter all over Europe and UK, still no charges, all calls, video calls free. Good luck
