You can purchase duty free alcohol at Melbourne airport and take onboard with Jetstar. Yet, a few years ago when we flew home from Bali on Jetstar, you weren't able to take any duty free alcohol on board that you purchased at Denpasar airport. The assistant in the duty free shop asked which airline I was flying with and when I said Jetstar, she told me not to bother as it would be confiscated at the security checkpoint.
