I think, from reading others reports, that we were actually lucky and a little impressed with the new airport on arrival.
We arrived on a Friday evening (around 11pm'ish) from Perth. Went through the VOA and immigration quickly, only hiccup was the wait for the luggage.
The only thing I can grouch about was that once we walked the the "shop" we then couldn't find the taxi stand. Had people touting for business and wanted ridiculous amounts to Legian. We ended up paying what we thought was an ok price.
