I have a certain sympathy for the taxi drivers, as an ex taxi driver myself. I feel that with the congestion during this period, ditto new year, also given how slowly their meters move when standing still or crawling, the metered fare does not represent a fair amount for their time at all. Most of us would probably tip to make up for this but they can't be sure of that. I feel that taxi drivers, like the rest of us when at work, deserve to be paid for the time they put in...
