It happened to me first time I went to Bali with my ANZ card. When I got home I contacted them and HSBC. They both said you need to let them know whenever you are travelling overseas as they may assume it is fraud unless you have told them.
Since then I always call my banks and let them know what dates I am away. no problems since.
