after many years of travelling to Bali and having given and visited many charities I have learnt
1 never give money
2 never give to women with babies or small kids begging as they are part of a racket
3 if you give make sure what you donate Usually not money but goods make sure you know where they are going or being used for.We give to Smudge and the birthing centre as we have seen the work done.We know what is needed and can also g o and buy same.
4 Rotary do fantastic work thru providing for the kids.A good present for those that have everything is to sponsor a child. You are assisting the next generation and can go see your child also
There are many good homes for children well run by committed people but also many who start out well and end up being corrupted.
We found that when told of a charity we would go unannounced to visit and check it out.Found many not really what we wanted.
It depends on what you want to do but be careful.
