Only a short 5 day break with my kids and grandkids in tow. Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, a class well above my usual type of accommodation when travelling solo.
The Hard Rock is just brilliant for kids,only time we saw them was when the hunger pains kicked in around lunch time.Meals at the Hard Rock are a tad more expensive that outside but great service and quality. I think I left about a months salary at the bloody gift shop in the hotel,but who can resist the kids wishes.
As usual went out and about in the evening for shopping and dinner,even put in a dinner at Jimbaran. Had a good night out in Legends on the Sunday, it was great to catch up with some old staff members there,it seems like Ketut has been there forever.
Worst meal of the trip award goes to Victory Restuarant in Poppies 1. Now you would think in Bali it would be prudent to order a Nasi Goring in a place you have never been to before, found not be further from the truth,the fried rice resembled left over ayam bubur,the egg on top must have been in the frying pan for all of ten seconds and the sate ayam was still raw inside. All that after waiting for ages to get the meal to the table,strangely enough the other six meals were served quickly and enjoyed by those who ordered them. On a good note they offer to replace the meal,which I refused and it didn't appear on the bill.
Yeah five days is just too short for me and all to soon heading back to the airport but not before the females all got their nails done.
Arrival and departure at the airport is a big improvement since my trip last November,seems to be working better. So roll on October when I will be back for a longer stay.
