Unfortunately we have a lot of experience with this one. If it's over $1000 at BIMC then they contact the travel insaurance company and they organize for insaurance to pay and you don't pay a cent up front. My daughter had an operation and day stay and nothing up front. Recently had an outpatient visit following an accident and had to pay 350,000rp and claim when we got back $361 returned so good exchange rate.
Another time my daughter was on the back of a transport bike and they were tboned. She needed stitches and a CT scan and had no money, they rang the insaurance company and they spoke to my daughter and approved it on the spot but the ct scan was $750 and with the stitches and antibiotics etc etc it may have been close to the $1000 mark.
