those stickers offensive as it they are not in his language. Ask a non-English speaking person to swear at you in their language and you will probably laugh, and would not find it offensive. So, maybe they just don't know how offensive they are? Who ordered them in the first place?
As for drugs, how come I or non of my friends have every been asked for drugs in Bali? Could this just be the area we hang out or a perception from the drug sellers that we are too square for drugs, who knows, ask them, seriously ask them why they ask the younger tourists. I did venture into Legian the other night for a farewell dinner at Sky Garden, must recommend that all you can eat for 50K, was a great meal, didn't have anyone ask us for drugs, we didn't have any problems, large group of 22 expats/locals, but did leave at 10.00pm so was probably not out late enough.
Good post for me to share this as I wanted to anyway :I was at a ceremony yesterday and one of the Holymen who was being inaugurated and having a blessing at the same time as me asked me where I was from, and when I said Australia he put on a very strong Australian accent and some of his language was foul. He thought he was hilarious. I explained to him we dont all talk like that and he argued that in Legian all Aussies "Aussie Aussie Aussie" do and I did not know what I was talking about. I explained that the "C" word he had used was highly offensive to me, about as offensive as a Balinese word, that if I called him that he would be very upset. He pondered it for a while, came back to me and then asked "so why do they all use those words, do they not respect each other?". Good question, I could have talked to him for hours about this topic but he was a bit busy, had a goat to slaughter etc.
