Been going to Bali for best part of 30 years and went to Bali Zoo for first time earlier this year. Absolutely loved it, got there at lunchtime so straight to restaurant, sat opposite entrance, close to the fencing where the elephants stroll past, great viewing spot. Food was lovely and cocktails to die for. Then into zoo which was great, spent about 4 hours there, got caught up at orang-utan enclosure, couldn't drag us away screaming, so entertaining, watch out, he throws poo, lol.. The only reason we left the zoo was because it started pouring rain but would have stayed longer if we could. Didn't do elephant ride because we had done that before. We left probably about 5pm and people still arriving so not sure what time it closes.
