We came to Sanur because it has one of my husbands favourite surf breaks .... Unfortunately it's been super windy since we arrived last Monday so no surfing has been done on this side of the island.

On the plus side, we found the airport arrival fine .... Yes the luggage did take a while to arrive but ova and immigration was fine. We did arrive at midnight though so the airport wasn't busy.

The weather has really turned this trip on its head for us, so pre-travel plans out the window, we've had some great days we didn't plan on. Firstly, taking the kids to Safari Park. Never been before and the Bali Agung Show was great. Not too long to loose the kids attention (6 and 8 year old). Secondly, Waterbom Park - always a great day.

We had planned on spending a day at Finns Beach Club but considering the strong southerly winds that are blowing we decided on Blue Point Uluwatu instead as the aspect is protected from the southerly. So we got our driver and traipsed down the peninsula, arriving to be told the place was fully booked and we couldn't get in. I had never heard of being able to book here for a day trip so lesson learnt people - make a booking. On the plus side we ended up having a fabulous day just hanging out at the he warungs on the Ulu cliff, and then at Bingin for a lovely afternoon at the beach .... Watching the awesome surfers, cheap Bintangs, warungs preparing fresh mackerel for that nights dinner, and watching the beautiful people - and in the end saving ourselves a heap of rupiahs by not entering Blue Point Villas.

Last night we discovered Art Cafe Sanur - which has been the best meal so far - taking into account value for money as well. Definitely worth a visit.

It's now Sunday morning and miracle of miracles the wind has just stopped. I sign off amidst a frantic rush to get the board to the beach before it comes back!!
