Flights - left Perth 23 June AA 4.50am. Flight looked to be going early however 2 passengers who thought they would hold everyone up by disappearing put paid to that - ended up leaving just on-time. Flight uneventful however no immigration cards on board so these had to be sourced (read mad fight for the few photocopies spread throughout the immigration hall) once VOA's obtained. With 5 of them to be filled out this then lead to us being at the end of the queue.
Return flight 2 July AA 9.00am - left 10 minutes late and further delayed by weather - nice & bumpy close to Perth.
New airport - first time through and I was impressed. On way home we were dropped at kerb and sitting having a coffee on the 'airside' within 15 minutes!
Accommodation - stayed at the Febris for the first time. Had booked a quintuplet room for us (2A, 3 kids - 10,8,2) through bookings.com and in the notes requested their offer of 2 adjoining rooms (if available) on ground floor. They met our request with great rooms on ground floor near the small pool right at the back of the hotel. Couldn't have asked for anything better if we'd picked them ourselves - big thumbs up.
Breakfast was more than adequate and the kids loved the pancakes & waffles - only bacon came wrapped around beans, carrots etc (bit odd but no biggy). Rooms very clean and kids loved the towel animals each day.
Activities - apart from general wandering around we only did 1 activity - visited Circus Waterpark - a small version of Waterbom aimed at the locals. Plenty of rides for both the big boys and the infant. No lines and all in all worth it if you've got smaller kids. Prices - adults US15, kids US7.5 - food local prices.
Meals - with small kids their moods dictated where & when we ate. Pantai (on the beach and an old favorite) - still good value, Queen's of India - nice however beware the mutton vindaloo as it packs a punch, Il Cielo - great pizzas and Carbonara. The find of the holiday was El Greco - opposite Kuta Art Market. Great souvilaki and all things meat & fishy.
General groceries couldn't go past the new Lippomall and we are a bit weak and do our clothes shopping at Dianne's fixed price shop - she has just moved into her new premises.
After counting down fro so long it's a bit of a letdown now it's all over & with next likely trip not until Christmas 2016 a long road ahead.
