I've had all done, Shellac, Gel & Rock Hard in Bali & yes when you take off Shellac & Rock Hard my nails were soft & brittle & it took a long time for them to heal themselves. With the Gel you are only suppose to have it on for a few weeks at a time & they suggest you give a week to two weeks break in between to allow the nail to breathe & maintain itself. The gel is super quick too if done in a professional salon like Think Pink
