Is only what they want you to pay. They would rather fill their rooms than leave vacant so most will negotiate. There is always bartering down often lower than the low season. Suppose it varies on what you will pay. I will always barter. Some people just pay the artificial high rate, because something on the internet says it is the high season. Too many other hotels in Bali to negotiate with.
Went to my usual hotel in Feb to see my wood carver. Hotel asked why I didn't stay and I said "the rate was too high" They said if I knew it was you we would have come down. I sent a message two weeks ago, Our usual room for 14 days $15 per day lower than internet price. Pay in AUD on arrival. High season is what you believe in.
