What Ricky and I are referring to is the common practice of asking a bule (westerner)for money because a family member is dying or has been in an accident. Mostly the person dying is a grandfather.
As such poor old grandfather tends to die about 10 times per year.
We see tourists handing over money on a daily basis.
Often going back to see grandfather actually means "oops one of my other boyfriends/girlfriends has turned up. I will have to sneak off and see him/her"
