The only safe course of action that I can think of relates to my previous post. Accidentally knock off the captain and first officer's hats as they walk past to board and check for the little red horns but (most importantly) as you bend to pick up the hat accidentally grab their bums and feel for the forked tail just in case they have had the horns removed. Refuse to board if either are evident.
